WWII POWs in France

WWII POWs in FranceMay 25th, 2014
A sad reality to war.  The first two pictures are among the most powerful photos I ever added to my collection.  The pictures were taken by German soldiers in May or June, 1940 during the French campaign.  One soldier is British, the others are colonial French from West Africa.  The look on their faces is defeat and uncertainty.  Notice the Englishman's blouse is still unbuttoned from being searched.  The man next to him has tribal scaring to his face.  Unfortunately, I do not know who these men were, what happened to them, or exactly when and were the pictures were shot.  Most likely, the English soldier was sent to a POW camp in Germany.  Th...more

Rev. William F. Davitt Last Officer in AEF Killed in WWI

Rev. William F. Davitt Last Officer in AEF Killed in WWIJune 24th, 2013
A sad reality of war is this foot locker which belonged to the Reverend Lt. William F. Davitt, a Chaplain for the 120th machine gun Bn. Rev. Davitt was killed at 09:45 on November 11, 1918 when a shell exploded near him in the Argonne just 75 minutes before the end of hostilities was declared. He is credited as being the last AEF officer killed in action during World War I.

Rev. Davitt grew up in Willimansett, Mass. He was a star basketball player and champion wrestler. He graduated from Chicopee High school in 1903 and attended Holy Cross College in Worcester where he played varsity football. Following graduation, he attended Grand Seminary at Montreal, Canada and was ordaine...more

New items are listed weekly, throughout the week.  We have an extensive inventory of new and vintage military surplus in the store.  Our specialty is vintage military collectibles from WWI and WWII, but have a large selection and knowledge of all eras from the Civil War through today.  Please check back often for new listings or drop us an email with requests for items.

The Back Ground:

I have been collecting and selling military collectibles for over 25 years.  I entered this hobby at the age of twelve with a profound interest in history and the inheritance of my Grandfather's WWII souvenirs.  By age 19, I earned extra money for college selling from a rented antique store booth and listing in online auctions.  After college, I was employed with an auction house as a describer and appraiser of military antiques and collectibles.  Today I, along with my wife, own and operate the largest military surplus store in Leavenworth County, Kansas since 2008.

Not Just a Surplus Store:

Army and Navy surplus is a large part of our business.  However, our store is actually an antique mall with two floors of merchandise from consigning vendors who cater toward, but not limited to, men and their collecting interests.  On this web site, not only will you see our military stock, but also cool collectable's such as pocket knives, lighters, old photos and more.  Something new and interesting enters, and leaves, our shop daily.  My intent is to list a huge selection of our store inventory right here for the world to see.  If you do not see what you are looking for, email me.  I probably have it in stock.

Accepted Forms of Payment:

In addition to PayPal, we are able to process orders with payment by direct transaction at our store location in Leavenworth, KS, via postal money order sent through the mail, through Mal's E-commerce
,or over the phone with your credit card.  We accept Visa, Master Card, and Discover.

Shipping:

Shipping for US customers is: FREE!  The price you see listed is the price you will pay.  No hidden fees or additional charges.  Pick-ups from our store location are also welcome.  If purchasing from over-seas, I will assess a fair shipping charge.  I will send a separate invoice for shipping charges to overseas customers after check out is complete.
