WWII US M1 Paratrooper Helmet Shell
Item: WWII6957

Late-war M1 helmet.  Has a rear seam, stainless steel rim, swivel bales.  Chin straps are khaki sew-on with darkened fittings and the snaps for attaching the chin cup.  The exterior was repainted in the 1950's.  Has several property markings on the inner rim.  Heat number looks to be 1163.  This came from an estate of a soldier who served with the 82nd A/B in the early 1950's when the Division was a training unit.  No liner.
