WWII German WH DAK Pith Helmet

Offered is a second pattern tropical pith helmet.  It is constructed with an OD colored felt exterior over a cork base and trimmed with a stitched-on leather band running along the edge. Exterior felt is in excellent condition with minor wear.  The top center of the crown has a removable, felt covered, ventilation knob with three openings.  The helmet has both stamped metal shields with a national eagle on the left side and national tri-color shield on the right.  The interior of the helmet is lined in teal green felt which is also in very good condition. Crown is lined in red felt which has a couple tears. Tan leather sweatband is maker marked "JHS" and is in excellent condition.  Helmet is size marked 56 and dated 1942 on the under side of the sweatband.  Leather sweatband is intact and in excellent condition.  Very nice looking example.
