WWI Austrian M16 Decaled Heer Transitional Helmet
Item: GM2155

Original WWI Austrian M16 helmet reissued during WWII to the German army.  Shell was period repainted to apple green.  Heer eagle is about 90% intact.  The tricolor decal I feel is a post war addition which was applied over remnants of the original some of which is visible along the edge of the replacement.  Chin strap is present and fully intact.  Tip is stamped but, it is not legible.  Size 64 is stamped to inner crown of the shell in ink and is pressed into the rim.  Leather liner is clean and in excellent condition with period lace  The band is dated 1939 and it is size marked 57.
