Original M40 German helmet shell.  Shell is a battle field relic that was recovered in Rostov, Russia.  Still evident is the a heer decal to the left side and partial liner.  Shell was struck by shrapnel at the top of the dome.  Has only been lightly cleaned from the excavation.  We did a forensic blood analysis test on the inside of this shell which returned a positive for blood residue.
