NSRL Gau Moselland RSG Rheinbrohl Flag
Item: GM512

Original Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund für Leibesübungen (National-socialist State-league for Physical-fitness) flag.  Ribbed, silk/rayon, double sided, multi-piece constructed flag measuring approximately 112cm x 138cm.  Flag has seven aluminum mounting rings to one side. Upper left corner of both sides labeled "Gau Moselland" "R.S.G. Rheinbrohl."  Letters are chain stitched in silver on black silk/rayon and trimmed with silver bullion rope along the edges.  Eagle and swastika are also chain stitch embroidered.  The flag has a bullet hole near the center.  As reported to me by the veteran's son, his father, Staff Sgt. Donald Edward Kappel Sr. who participated in the Battle of the Bulge and served in Italy, "popped a round through it" before racing another soldier up a flight of stairs to claim the flag as a prize.  Besides the bullet hole, a water stain is also present on one side.   really cool flag with a neat history.  Guaranteed original.
